Dos and Don’ts to Maintain Quartz Countertops
Quartz is fairly easy to maintain. There are however, a few important things to know when it comes to Quartz. Every stone is different but with Quartz being a man made product, there is additional concern. So here are a couple of Dos and Don’ts to keep in mind with your Quartz countertops.
Don’ts
- Don’t put hot pans and mugs on the countertops. Nothing 120 degrees or above.
- Being careless is never a good idea, especially when sliding things across your countertops such as, knifes and ceramic. They can leave black marks.
- Don’t forget that Quartz counter tops are not only quartz, they have resins in them. So it doesn’t have the same physical qualities.
- Leaving wet pans on the surface isn’t a good idea, it may rust.
- Careful with your belt buckle rubbing against your counters.
- Do not use a scrub with rough pads of any sort.
Do’s
- Clean with water and soap
- Do read this blog on cleaning different stones.
- Roll out your pastries on the stone slab’s cold surface.
- If you do have problems with staining try the methods found here.
- Do stay away from harsh cleaners such as bleach.
- Do Clean up spills promptly, just in case.
