I take my job seriously, which is to help you. So, I find and post on my instagram stories every Thursday reviews with real people’s experiences with different countertop materials. Starting now, I will be updating this post every thursday, so those who don’t instagram can have just as much access to the information.
Quartz Reviews
These are comments to a youtube video about countertops. Sometimes the first comment is a direct response,ut all have a small or large voice opinion and experience with some kind of countertop material.
This designer comments on the grey scratch like lines that can come from really anything on Quartz, most commonly knifes or belt buckles. Many people have found Magic Erasers the perfect way to remove this mark, but this designer suggests something different.
This is a major controversy with Quartz but if you recognize the wording, everything says “resistant” scratch, stain, heat, etc. It is not proof of anything but it holds up well to everyday battles just nothing extreme. But take note that this is a stone and you need to be carefully with it, you wouldn’t beat up our walls or chairs because they do well for their purpose but they aren’t unharmable, neither are your countertops.
Here are some snippets from her review that I found maybe useful for you. Also, you can check out Sarah’s blog here.
Granite
This comment goes along with the fact that it isn’t heat PROOF! The tea cup stained because it burned the polymer resin or epoxy resins that are used to bind the Quartz stone together. This is something that would not happen with Granite. A white Granite could potentially stain but it is easy to lift the stains on Granite because it can handle harsher cleaners and materials as compared to limestone or marble.
The biggest reason it is said to be a requirement to have your Granite sealed every 1-5 years is because of the sanitary purposes. Granite is a natural material, it isn’t extremely porous like Marble but it does still have holes and cracks. Sealer is meant to fill that to keep bacteria from growing.
Travertine
I asked via instagram, @agoraturkiye to share about their experience and recommendations with a little bit different material, Travertine.
Marble
These reviews give a taste of every side and opinion, hopefully it didn’t make you even more lost on whether Quartz is for you or not! To clarify, this blog post and all these reviews aren’t facts they are opinions and hopefully honest people sharing their experiences. Above all, it keeps you in the know of what could potentially be your experience with Quartz countertops.
